  • Sept 9: It is with deep regret that the Yale Club of France announces the passing of Marguey Yates (YC 1975 and long-time member of the Yale Club of France) on September 9, 2023.

Marguey grew up a citizen of the world and attended French high school in the US. Thus it was a natural fit when she moved to Paris in 1984, residing full time until 2013. Since then, she has kept a foot in Paris and, as always, in the life of the Yale Club of France.

Marguey was a most active member of the Yale Club of France.  She was President of the Yale Club of France in the 1980s, in its nascent days, and served as board member for many years thereafter. She hosted numerous events in her charming rue de Montmartre flat and gave invaluable advice to all following presidents of the club. Most importantly, she was a brilliant woman, a loving wife and mother, and a wonderful individual. She will be sorely missed in our club.

Our condolences go to her entire family, but especially husband David and sons Edward and Simon. Requiescat in pace.
